Inclusive Exeter offers a Drop-In Support Service for people from ethnically diverse communities/people whose first language isn’t English; who may struggle with filling in forms or accessing mainstream services. We recognise that people from ethnically diverse backgrounds can often face challenges like language and social barriers, as well as not being overly familiar with the bureaucratic systems of mainstream services. This is why we can offer a helping hand in getting forms filled out correctly. We have had training with Citizens’ Advice Exeter and where appropriate, will signpost people to other services.
We support people with the following services:
- Housing applications – social housing with Devon Home Choice
- Assistance with registering with letting agents for private renting
- Universal Credit applications
- State pension/child benefit applications
- PIP/Carers Allowance applications
- Utility companies enquiries – registering and understanding bills
- Bus pass applications
- Blue Badge applications
- Opening bank accounts
- Passport/BRP/citizenship applications
- Food Bank referrals
- Assisting with council tax issues
- Driving license applications
This is not an exhaustive list and people are encouraged to ask for a full range of the services we offer.
